Oathealth.com is Going Social!
Friday, 08. 21. 2009 – Category: Heart Health
Because we’re dedicated to finding the best ways to keep you educated, we’re spreading our wings and reaching beyond our blog and website. As of today, Oathealth.com is now on Twitter! You can find us by search for @oathealth. Within the next few days, we’ll also be bringing an Oathealth.com Facebook fan page!
If you aren’t involved in either of these sites, I’ll give you a little bit of background information:
Facebook.com is a social networking site where individuals use profiles, comments, and messages, and pictures to keep in touch and share information. While it’s generally most popular for people within the college-aged demographic, older generations are getting involved. The technology gap is closing, and Facebook is a great way for individuals to keep in touch with the world around them.
Twitter.com is a “micro-blogging” website where individuals are allowed to post up to 140 characters. They follow others, and others follow them. It’s a great way for people to share links and pictures without going into much detail. It’s also a great way to get many small pieces of information out to a large group of people.
If you’re not already involved in one of the two above sites, I suggest you do! Even if you feel as though it’ll take a while to get a hang of how they work, you’ll find that it’s actually worth your while. Social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook allow communities to stay in touch and up-to-date. We’ll be using these social tools to keep you in the loop on Oathealth activities, heart health news, and special offers.
Twitter is up and running, and the Facebook page will be coming soon. In addition to both of these pages, in the next few weeks to look to be on YouTube, as well. This will allow easy access to our informational videos, so that you can share them with friends and family or view them more conveniently.
Have a good one, and have fun going social!
